PAPER BALLOT - CANADA'S OWN CYBERSECURITY AGENCY WARNS ABOUT THE RISK

Canada’s own Cyber Centre says cyber threat activity targeting democratic processes is on the rise worldwide.

It warns of threats including:

• attacks on election infrastructure;
• compromised systems and malware;
• interference with election information;
• reduced access to voting; and
• efforts to undermine confidence in results.

The Cyber Centre also says internet voting presents more opportunities to adversaries than traditional paper processes.

And this matters:

PAPER PROCESSES OPERATING IN PARALLEL ARE PART OF THE PROTECTION.

So why are Ontario municipalities allowed to eliminate the physical safeguard completely?

RESTORE THE PAPER BALLOT CHOICE.

"If physical, auditable paper ballots are considered appropriate for choosing Canada's Parliament and Ontario's Legislature, why should municipal voters not be entitled to the same tangible, independently recountable record?"
